FAQ

What is Matcha?

Matcha is finely ground green tea traditionally used in Japan. Made by grinding high-quality green tea powder leaves, it has a rich flavor and bright green color.

What is the difference between matcha and regular green tea?

Unlike regular green tea, matcha tea leaves are shaded before harvesting, which increases the chlorophyll and amino acid content. When drinking matcha, the whole leaves are therefore consumed, resulting in a more intense flavor and a higher concentration of nutrients.

How do you prepare matcha?

Matcha is traditionally brewed with hot water and then whipped with a bamboo whisk called a "chasen" into a creamy drink. It can also be used in smoothies, baked goods, and other recipes.

How long does matcha last?

Matcha should preferably be used within 3-6 months of opening the package to maintain its freshness and quality. It is recommended to store matcha in a cool, dry place away from sunlight to maximize shelf life.
